Dental Insurance

You and your eligible dependents can enroll in one of two dental plans:

State of Texas Dental Choice Plan^SM (PPO)

Dental DHMO

Signing up for dental coverage never requires proof of good health, called evidence of insurability.

HumanaDental administers benefits for both dental plans.

Dental Discount Program

Humana Medicare Advantage also offers a Dental Discount program. This discount program is designed for those who do not have dental insurance. The Dental Discount can’t be combined with any other dental coverage. If you currently have coverage with a GBP HumanaDental plan, either the DHMO or State of Texas Dental Choice Plan^SM, your benefits are much richer than any discount available through the Dental Discount program.

Using Benefits

Find a Dentist
Find dentists on the HumanaDental website.
HumanaDental DHMO Coverage
Must choose a network dentist to receive covered benefits.

Deductible - $0

Copays - Vary by services

Cleanings/Exams - Allows 2 per calendar year with $12 copay

Orthodontic - $1,800 per child/$2,100 per adult
State of Texas Dental Choice PPO Coverage
Using network participating dentist:

Deductible - $0 for preventative services

Copays - Vary by services; $0 for preventative

Cleanings/Exams - Allows 2 per calendar year at no cost

Orthodontic - $1,500 max benefit (age 19 and younger)

Note about insurance: Health and other insurance benefits for employees and retirees are subject to change based on available State funding. The Texas Legislature determines the level of funding for such benefits and has no continuing obligation to provide those benefits beyond each fiscal year.
