Accelerated Life Benefit

If you are diagnosed with a terminal condition, and have a life expectancy of 12 months or less, you or your court-appointed legal representative may request payment of your Optional Term Life coverage amount to you in a single lump sum before your death.

You can receive a combined total of 80% of your Group Term Life Insurance amount which includes your Basic Term Life insurance and Optional Term Life Insurance. The amount of this payment is deducted from the benefit amount paid to your designated beneficiary upon your death; however, you will continue to pay the premium for Optional Term Life coverage as if the Accelerated Life Benefit payment had not been made.
