    Recently, you may have received a letter from John Hancock regarding your Long Term Care (LTC) policy. Please be assured that with continued payment of your premiums, your coverage and your policy number have not changed and will not change. The letter was sent to inform members of a change in the administration of your LTC policy. Going forward, John Hancock will be your direct contact for any questions about your LTC coverage.     John Hancock stopped accepting new enrollment into their Long-Term Care Insurance January 1, 2012. This information is for employees and their dependents enrolled before January 1, 2012.  

    Provides certain benefits not covered by your medical plan, such as nursing home care and adult day care. Be proactive and plan for your future long-term care needs—and for those of your loved ones. Long-Term care coverage can give you the peace of mind that comes with knowing you are prepared for the future.

  • Continuing benefits when you leave employment

    Long-Term Care benefit payments may continue after you terminate employment if you are:

    • employed on the date the disabling condition began, and
    • enrolled in the coverage on the date the disability began.

    If you retire or leave state employment, your coverage may be continued at group rates. You will continue to pay premiums directly to John Hancock.
