2016 Summer Enrollment is around the corner

Find Plan Year 2017 rates, fair schedule, enrollment phases online

Summer Enrollment is the one time of the year you can make changes to your benefits without experiencing a qualifying life event (QLE). In late June or early July, you’ll receive your Personal Benefits Enrollment Statement (PBES) that will show you what benefits you currently have and what you can enroll in for Plan Year 2017.

Now is a good time to evaluate whether you need to enroll in disability insurance or more life insurance. If you decide to enroll, you will need to go through the  evidence of insurability (EOI) process and be approved before you can enroll. Check out the insurance needs calculator on the Securian website to help you decide whether you should increase your Optional Term Life Insurance amount or add Dependent Term Life Insurance coverage for your dependents. You can also review your health and dependent care costs over the past year to see if you need to increase or decrease your TexFlex account contributions. Check out the Decision Support Tool on the TexFlex website to get a better picture of your health and dependent care needs for next plan year.

Visit the Summer Enrollment page to find:

Starting July 5, ERS staff and Texas Employees Group Benefits Program (GBP) benefits representatives will set out on a five-week trek across Texas to offer benefits presentations and staff informational booths. Come join us to learn more about your benefits and receive small giveaways courtesy of GBP administrators.

Once your enrollment phase begins, you can sign into your ERS account online or contact your benefits coordinator to make your benefit elections. After you make your elections, you’ll receive an email or letter verifying the changes you made. Make sure to look for that communication to ensure your elections are correct.
